sabre your right. I think it shocked everyone. Duc, Seabs, and especially Huet.
What's with Kane playing with Fraser and Burish. How does it help anyone especially Kane to play with those two. Its really mindless. |

perhaps if he's hurt with that broken finger, it's a way to minimize his ice time but still keep the other team on their guard knowing he'll be on
the ice (yeah, i know. i'm pulling a reason out of my Karpotsev).
the game's on Versus which, despite the advertisment on the home page, i cant watch because it's not part of my cable package. uh. huh-huh. my package....

Bad turnover by Dunc. Seemed like he had no idea that Kovalev was there.
Montreal is really keying on the way the Hawks cycle the puck behind to the other defenseman. It is causing havoc in the Hawks' end. |

It sure looked like he used his helmet to headbutt Johnson. That is chicken shit!
I think that is what the extra two and the ten were for. Isn't a headbutt a game misconduct? It should earn him a suspension too.

Well now he's back with Toews/Sharp. They have had a few good shifts. But to start with that makes no sense. Yes, Miller that is pulling it out of your
Karpostev.
Plain and simple they are owning us with there jump and speed. |

I don't claim to be a hockey genius by any stretch, but one big thing I've noticed, (and maybe noted before) is that the teams that beat us do it with
relentless forechecking - a tactic that is as old as hockey itself, yet one that we have not come up with an adequate solution for. Just watch, that's
exactly what St. Louis will be trying tomorrow and the Preds on Friday.
The Habs are all over us, and we're wilting like daisies. Once again, our inexperience is showing like rust in your underwear. I'm not saying the Hawks are failures, but we have a long ways to go to get to the promised land. It, likely isn't going to start tonight. I think I'll skip the 3rd period - they've given me nothing to watch. |

Ya hey look at that; Kane plays with a center with some offensive skill and he's playing really well.
This is ugly again. Reminds me of the movie Major League "Oh no we suck again!" Anyone catch the segment in between the first and second period where Brian Engblom talked about how the Hawks defense hasn't looked the same since the trade deadline?

They have to win the third period. This is pretty shitty hockey. Huet has not played badly. There's very little momentum. The canadien goals were killers
but some of the hawks are standing still along the boards. Ladd is playing alright. It'd be great if they had a third period where the "A" team
showed up.

Did they say 11 times in 18 games giving up 4 or more goals?? That is NOT a recipe for ANY success; let alone playoff success.
Huet was not 4 goal against bad tonight; he was much better, just a lot of bad bounces/bad turnovers/bad penalties. That may have been the worst game I have ever seen Dunc play. I like Dunc a lot; but that was just an awful performance. 24-40 in faceoffs tonight; that is just unacceptable. Just a complete disaster performance. I can't pick any positives out of this game. This team is fading fast.

I wish Icould be more upset about this game.But the truth is the other team seems to be playing more desperate hockey.First Vancouver, now Montreal. I understand it's a young team and the last person to panic should be the coach,but wasn't it games like these that we sacked Savard and brought Q in for? The Teamneeds to be playingmore desperate. And that's on Q. Plus this search for "the perfect matchup" leaves us n the short end of a lot of 3 on 2's and 2 on 1's. Please stop it. |

Hawks on NBC in Wrigley, Hawks on Versus, Hawks at MSG opening day, Hawks against the Devils on Brodeur's record-breaking night -- just seems like we keep
blowing the games with national awareness. Versus is, of course, nothing compared to ESPN's coverage of old -- and ratings aren't what they used to be
-- but still... It would feel nice to know we're winning the games that have an audience outside Chicagoland...

Something else that hasn't been mentioned: the special teams were AWFUL tonight. The PP and the PK both looked lost. They still can't win a faceoff
even after acquiring a faceoff specialty man. I can't believe the forecheck ate the Hawks up so bad. 4 months ago they would have eaten that forecheck
alive, but I guess 4 months is a long time...
There is NO chemistry on this team outside of Ladd/Havlat/Bolland... and speaking of which what the HELL has Andrew Ladd done to deserve less ice time then Ben bleepin Eager and Rotund Byfuglien? Also a big congrats to Sami Pahlssson picking up his first point in a Hawks uni... you can sense that getting ready to snowball...
